Rust language release date8/31/2023 ![]() Some of the bloggers also wrote in their blogs that google is also going to announce Rust support within the android open source project as an alternative to the other programming languages such as C/C++.Ī survey was conducted in early 2022 according to the stack overflow, 9% of the developer have recently done the development with rust. In early 2021 the rust team or the foundation supported five companies such as Huawei, Google, Microsoft, and Mozilla. The first version of the rust compiler was a pre-Alpha version name Rust0.1 and was successfully released at just starting of 2012. After compiling itself in 2011, it was named RUSTC. In the very next year 2011, The modern Rust-based compiler was introduced successfully. These compilers are based on LLVM written in the rust programming language. All the compilers who were working on the initial compilation methods written in OCaml transferred to self-hosting compilers. Just after the successful opening of the rust programming language, a huge revolution was raised in the compilers. After some successful development and additions in 2010, this project was officially announced by the Mozilla company. After some years in 2009, the company Mozilla started to sponsor this project. The person who developed it as a personal project was an employee of Mozilla company and his name is Graydon Hoare. Rust programming language was initially started in the early 20s, and some of the authors write it was first developed as an individual project in 2006. History of Rust Programming Language (Origin) For example, web programming is primarily based on JavaScript, SQL, HTML, CSS, Angular, and Objective C programming languages, while desktop application development uses JAVA, C#, C++, Python, and Lua.Ģ. These categories require a specific programming language or are based on a specific programming language for the specific field-based programmer. All of these categories demanded that programmers possess the necessary expertise. Net Programming Android apps, Unity, and desktop applications. In 1883 the first programming language was developed by two familiar personalities, Ada Lovelace and the father of the computer Charles Babbage Categorically Web programming is one of the many subcategories that programming is further divided into. To answer the question history of rust programming, we need to define what is programming language and how it started. ![]() Every language has a unique method of computer teaching. Like human language, there are many other computer languages as well, including JAVA, Python, C-Sharp, C++, and C. A computer communicates its own language because it is an electronic device. Multiple instructions are created in programming to communicate with computers and force them to carry out these instructions in accordance with predetermined procedures. Programming is defined as “a series of well-defined instructions supplied to the computer to solve a specific solution after processing the inputs.” It is the key phrase in the information technology industry.

Chroma key lighting8/31/2023 ![]() When planning out a new build with an ROG motherboard, note how many 3-pin addressable and 4-pin non-addressable RGB headers the board has. After updating your drivers (if you're asked to do so), you can choose which of these devices you'd like to group together and then move on to the lighting settings themselves. It will take you to the Sync Devices tab with all your compatible hardware listed below. On my system, for example, I can see four devices: my ROG motherboard and monitor, my G.Skill memory kit, and an Addressable LED strip, which is my motherboard’s 3-pin addressable RGB header connected to my PC case. When your system is back up and running, launch Armoury Crate and look for the triangular symbol labeled “Aura Sync” on the left sidebar. ![]() ![]() Once the updates have finished, you may need to restart your system. Check for updates and install every update available to you - if all your devices are plugged in, it will download the plugins for configuring them. So open Armoury Crate, click the Settings cog in the bottom left corner, and head to the Update Center tab. In order for Armoury Crate to recognize your peripherals, it will need to install the requisite modules. Once you’re ready to get the disco party started, download and install Armoury Crate if it isn’t on your system already. Then, make sure that your peripherals are connected, and that Windows is up to date. If you see that badge, you can be confident your peripherals will work beautifully with our software. If you have a new ROG product with RGB, you’re likely good to go-Aura Sync has been around since 2016. For non-ASUS products, we recommend looking for the “Aura Sync compatible” logo on the product page or packaging. RGB gives you almost limitless flexibility to reflect your personality, but controlling those LEDs has historically been less than simple. Aura and Aura Sync are designed to be painless. It's easy to set a static color with one click, disable the lighting completely, or go all out for a truly custom look. Depending on your platform and accessories, you can use our Aura Sync utility to control your keyboard, monitor, motherboard, GPU, case lights, and even compatible components from other manufacturers. Aura is built into our Armoury Crate software, which means it lives alongside other system tools like fan controls and system monitoring on ROG laptops. What is Aura Sync?Īura is ASUS’ RGB control software. Available on both our laptops and desktop platforms, Aura is a one stop shop for controlling anything RGB on your system. It allows you to customize your RGB LEDs to your heart's content. But unless you're into the unicorn aesthetic, you probably don't want to leave it that way-you’ll want to make it your own using your favorite colors and lighting patterns. When you first boot up a modern gaming PC, you'll undoubtedly be greeted by a rainbow of lights coming from the keyboard and other hardware.

CD stood for Civil Defense and was taken very seriously in the 50’s and 60’s due to the communist “red scare.” These are CD marks, which appeared on all radios manufactured or sold in the U.S. One easy way to date a transistor radio to this period is to look for small triangles or circles between the 6 & 7 and the 12 & 16 on the dial. Generally, the most collectable and historic transistor radios are those made in Japan from 1956 to 1963 and America from 1955-60. There are a few exceptions which I will talk about shortly. What we’ve realized over the years is that these radios are not as rare or scarce as once thought. They predate eBay and the quoted prices are often higher than present day values. Most of the price guides on the market were released well over ten years ago during the first “wave” of transistor radio collecting. I suggest spending some time on the internet or scanning the pages of the few transistor radio price guides to research makes and models. ![]() Have fun and buy radios that appeal to your personal tastes. Sure, you’ll want some key radios but make sure you collect what you like. Although the main focus of this article is to broaden your knowledge base, make sure you don’t just collect for investment or get caught up in only possessing what are considered “must haves”. By your fourth radio you will be considered a “collector” and will be hooked! There will be no turning back from the appeal of these mid-century, technical and artistic marvels.īefore spending too much money I recommend you take some time, do your homework and educate yourself. ![]() ![]() Well, be warned! If you buy one transistor radio it will most likely grow to two, then three. Perhaps you recently saw a picture of a cool looking pocket radio from the early 1960’s and were reminded of your carefree, youthful days? Maybe it was the pastel colors or atomic aged designs that caught your eye? Or the chrome highlights that attracted your attention? Nonetheless, you find yourself actively seeking them out at the local flea market or surfing eBay for a good deal. Michael Jack, whose personal Flickr website is a member of our Hall of Fame, is a collector of vintage transistor radios.

Facs analysis8/31/2023 The FMO control allows determination of the cut-off between cells that are negative vs. In the above example, the FMO control for the anti-CD3-PE antibody consists of a sample stained with anti-CD45-FITC and anti-CD56-APC antibodies plus PI, all of which are part of the final staining panel. Black dotted line represents the FMO gating boundary compared to the no stain boundary in blue. Dot plots of multicolor flow cytometry showing the fluorescence spread into the PE channel (FMO control compared to a no stain control). When using antibodies labeled with tandem fluorophores it is recommended to use the same antibody lot for compensation as the lot that will be used in the experiments, due to the tendency of higher lot-to-lot variability in emission spectra for these fluorophores.įigure 1. Alternatively, compensation beads can be used instead of stained cells. In this case, the signal intensity of the control sample for the given fluorophore must be at least as bright as in the test sample. If compensation setting is difficult due to the low expression of the target marker or low frequency of the target cells, an antibody targeting a different marker but conjugated to the same fluorophore could be used. The latter will allow compensation setting for potential spectral overlap. Additionally, good practice would be to use ‘compensation controls’ consisting of cell samples each stained with one of the fluorophore conjugated antibodies that will be used in the multicolour flow panel. Spectral overlap can be reduced by choosing combinations of fluorophores that have little overlap in terms of their emission spectra. This overlap of emission spectra in the various detection regions contributes to background fluorescence and leads to false- positive events during the flow cytometry analysis. The emission spectra of some existing fluorophores are quite large, so the spectral emission of a particular fluorophore can be detected by additional sensors rather than by the sensor designated to measure the emission peak of that fluorophore. Tissue and Cell Culture Dissociation Reagents. This is typically done for antibody titrations and a titration curve is used to determine which signal/noise ratio is optimal for the antigen.Ĭonclusion: The experts recommend using the median (preferred) or the geometric mean (second best choice) for the evaluation of MFI on a logarithmic scale.Work at STEMCELL View Current Opportunities > Looking at the example B, this would result in a S/N ratio of 77:1 for the CD7. If compensation settings are applied, the MFI's of the antigen-negative as well as the antigen-positive populations are often affected. A more meaningful way may be to measure the signal to noise ratio (mean of an antigen-positive population / mean of antigen negative population) while no compensation setting are applied. voltage, compensation, antibody dilution, tandem dye degradation, laser fluctuations, etc.), it can be misleading when comparing intensity of any kind across multiple experiments. Fluorescent intensity is sensitive to experimental condition (e.g. Gating each population and presenting percentages will provide much more useful information.Īlthough the MFI is often used to define and describe the mean intensity and level of antibody expression, it should be noted that this assumes that the instrument is optimized including the voltage and compensation settings. The MFI should NOT be used in a bimodal distribution (example C) as any average only holds true for normal distributions, and a bi-modal population is by definition not normal. ![]() In order to compensate for this, the geometric mean (gMFI) is often used to account for the log-normal behavior of flow data. However, if we look at example B, a skewed antigen expression causes the mean to drift in the direction of the skewed area (in this case to the left). In an even distribution (example A) the median, arithmetic mean, mode and the geometric mean is almost identical. Mode: refers to the channels which are most frequented. Geometric mean: Without going into too much mathematical detail, the geometric mean compensates for that and is considered the second best choice of describing the MFI of a logarithmic histogram.Ĥ. Because fluorescent intensity increases logarithmically (and most flow data are logarithmic), arithmetic mean quickly becomes useless to generalize a population of events, as a right-hand skew causes even more exaggeration of the mean and accurate MFI measurements cannot be made of events off scale either at the negative/dim or bright ends of the histogram.ģ. Preferred method to measure MFI of a logarithmic histogram.Ģ.Ěrithmetic mean: number of events in each fluorescent channel divided by the number of channels. Median: midpoint of population (middle channel). However, it is important to know which kind of mean we are talking about.ġ. MFI is typically understood as mean fluorescence intensity.

Number 9 on periodic table8/30/2023 ![]() A modern periodic table arranges the elements in increasing order of their atomic numbers and groups atoms with similar properties in the same vertical column. The modern statement of this relationship, the periodic law, is as follows: the properties of the elements are periodic functions of their atomic numbers. (credit a: modification of work by Serge Lachinov credit b: modification of work by “Den fjättrade ankan”/Wikimedia Commons)īy the 20th century, it became apparent that the periodic relationship involved atomic numbers rather than atomic masses. (a) Dimitri Mendeleev is widely credited with creating (b) the first periodic table of the elements. Although Mendeleev and Meyer had a long dispute over priority, Mendeleev’s contributions to the development of the periodic table are now more widely recognized. The discoveries of gallium (1875) and germanium (1886) provided great support for Mendeleev’s work. But Mendeleev went one step further than Meyer: he used his table to predict the existence of elements that would have the properties similar to aluminum and silicon but were yet unknown. Both published tables with the elements arranged according to increasing atomic mass. Fluorine (F), chlorine (Cl), bromine (Br), and iodine (I) also exhibit similar properties to each other, but these properties are drastically different from those of any of the elements above.ĭmitri Mendeleev in Russia (1869) and Lothar Meyer in Germany (1870) independently recognized that there was a periodic relationship among the properties of the elements known at that time. For example: Li, Na, and K are much more reactive than are Ca, Sr, and Ba Li, Na, and K form compounds with oxygen in a ratio of two of their atoms to one oxygen atom, whereas Ca, Sr, and Ba form compounds with one of their atoms to one oxygen atom. However, the specific properties of these two groupings are notably different from each other. A second grouping includes calcium (Ca), strontium (Sr), and barium (Ba), which also are shiny, good conductors of heat and electricity, and have chemical properties in common. One such grouping includes lithium (Li), sodium (Na), and potassium (K): these elements all are shiny, conduct heat and electricity well, and have similar chemical properties. ![]() ![]() Identify metals, nonmetals, and metalloids by their properties and/or location on the periodic table.Īs early chemists worked to purify ores and discovered more elements, they realized that various elements could be grouped together by their similar chemical behaviors.Predict the general properties of elements based on their location within the periodic table.State the periodic law and explain the organization of elements in the periodic table.

Drive thru wildlife park near me8/30/2023 ![]() Then at your assigned time you can go on a tour to see the rest of the animals. Chickens and pigs and other barnyard animals are also in these areas. You can buy some feed to feed sheep and goats. The front of the zoo is a petting zoo with some loose baby goats that were fun to pet. It was a bit pricey, but it did include a guided tour with a small group. Once we got there we realized the zoo was actually open as well. Went for the first time last week because I read they had a drive-through zoo for the quarantine. I’m working on scheduling an Otter Splash experience for this summer! ![]() What impressed me was the obvious care of the animals. This is not a spit polish or high tech facility. There is a single-stall bathroom and a porta potty. There is also a gift shop & a few snacks you can buy. There were fun photo ops & places to rest & take a load off. But it was fun watching the rare breed and miniature animals & feeding them. The Petting Farm area is more fun for kids I’m sure. We had a great time letting the parakeets land on us. ![]() We also bought parakeet feed sticks & went to the Parakeet Landing enclosure. Feed was provided and it was very fun interacting with the camel. They stopped the wagon for us to unload & feed a giant 7 foot tall camel. We loaded on a hay wagon pulled by a tractor which took us to the other side of the farm where we saw some celebrity animals, camels, zebras and their emotional support animals, camels, mini-horses, emus, etc. We were able to pet a snake & the largest legless lizard I have ever seen. The building is small & our group was very crowded. The Reptile Encounter was a little less impressive. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the enclosures & obvious care given to the animals. At the end, we had the chance to pet a chinchilla, an armadillo and a hedgehog. The guide gives good detail about the animals along the way. The Wildlife Walk was not long, but does start off with a moderate hill. My husband is on a cane, but was able to manage all of these with difficulty. This was our first visit & we got the “Adventure Package,” which includes zoo admission, the Wildlife Walk, Reptile Experience, Camel Encounter & Petting Zoo. They focus on specialized hands on “experiences” which must be booked in advance. It is a small privately owned zoo with an interesting variety of animals. Took my husband & his brother here for my husband’s birthday. |
